F. Chris Garcia: Civic Light Opera Association

F. Chris Garcia was a dedicated member of the Albuquerque Civic Light Opera Association for over five years, providing guidance and insight as a member of the organization’s Board of Directors from 1985 to 1991. He is proud to have had the opportunity to serve on such an esteemed and notable Albuquerque institution.

F. Chris Garcia served as President of the Albuquerque Civic Light Opera Association in 1987, shortly after completing his tenure as the Board’s Vice President in 1986. A committed member of the Albuquerque community for his entire life, Garcia is honored to have had the opportunity to show his support of local arts as the member of such an esteemed institution.

F. Chris Garcia has served the Albuquerque community in a variety of ways, not only as the member of numerous organizational boards and committees, but also as a UNM professor, a lecturer and as a trusted source of expertise, information and insight during campaigns and elections from 1974 through 2008.

He has received awards both for his service to the UNM academic community and for his contributions to the City of Albuquerque, the result of his consistent and continual demonstration of an unrelenting commitment to the health and strength of his lifelong home. A “native son” of the Albuquerque community, he has shown his passion for his city, for UNM and for the State of New Mexico in a variety of ways, and has been a constant and positive force for change throughout his professional career and his personal life.

F. Chris Garcia was also a part of UNM Site for the Performing Arts Center Citizens Committee in 1989.
